The final, contested by Rodillian and Morley, was held on Thursday May 2nd at Scatchard Lane the home of Morley Rugby Union Club.
Rodillian soon took the lead but the Morley side scored a third try on the stroke of half time to lead 14 - 12. Early in the second half the scores were tied at 18 all. A towering touchline conversion gave Morley the lead and they went on to dominate the half running out winners 36 - 18.
It was a very entertaining game which neither side deserved to lose.
After the match the trophy and medals were presented by Stephen McGrail, the great grandson of Albert Goldthorpe.
