Farnley 36 Lawnswood 24

This seasons final was held on January 27th and it again took place at the John Charles Centre for Sport in South Leeds. A new name was guaranteed to go on the historic trophy with both teams contesting the final for the first time. Lawnswood opened the scoring but after that the first half was one way traffic and Farnley held a 14-4 lead at the break.

They extended their lead early in the second half before a spirited fightback saw Lawnswood score three tries in six minutes and at 26 -18 it was all to play for. Farnley however held their nerve and scored again and although Lawnswood had the last word it finished 32-24

It was a good game which during the first half looked as if it may be one sided but Lawnswood had other ideas and were not far short of pulling off a remarkable comeback.

Five try Player of the match Noah Broadbent was presented with the Ken Eyre Trophy by Phil Holmes from the Leeds players association. Leeds Rhinos players Jack Walker and Muizz Mustapha presented the medals and the trophy was presented by Albert Goldthorpe's great grandson Stephen McGrail.
